Manhasset Bay Yacht Club’s six-lane 25 meter pool is located on the western lawn, close to the club’s docks. The pool is a summer refuge from the rigors of daily life and is staffed by a watchful pool director and lifeguards. Civility at the pool is a top priority for Manhasset Bay Yacht Club so that swimmers of all ages may enjoy themselves in a beautiful setting reminiscent of Hamilton, Bermuda.
There are more than 100 chaises on the apron surrounding the pool and many are under umbrellas, so our members have the option of sunning or relaxing in shade. Amenities are offered at the pool, such as a bartender and portable bar on the pool deck during the weekends, for our members’ convenience. We also keep a cooler filled with ice water on the pool deck at all times. The pool is also close to our terrace for summer dining and snack bar.
Having a heated pool allows Manhasset Bay Yacht Club to have a season longer than most clubs, from Memorial Day weekend through the end of September.
We offer “early bird” adult swimming from 7:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. daily during summer weekdays, and there is a daily adult swim from 4:15 to 4:45 p.m., including weekends. Additionally, swim lessons are available to those wishing to improve their skills.
Our swim team, which has a fine history, offers members’ children a terrific opportunity to compete with other clubs in an environment where our children support each other at all age levels. As always, good sportsmanship is emphasized, and Manhasset Bay Yacht Club’s competitive swimmers frequently win the swim league’s Good Sportsmanship Award.
